you should also consider fishing the sound w/a medium light action 6 to7 1/2' rod with 8 to 10 #test,and trout jigs.trout jigs are lead heads (gen.1/16-3/8oz) and 2 to 5"soft plastics.the trout are generally at least biting,if not running hard by the 3rd week of april in the sound(weather permitting).they could also be in the surf,but thats a wait and see call.always some pups around the little bridge as well at that time.have at it,good luck
