One WVinian to another , later in April or Early May is best. Check Rutgers SST charts , and you'll want to go when there are light Easterly winds forecast , E , NE or SE at no more than 5-10 is best. March and April are good for offshore , but in close you really have to have warmer water and E winds to have a lot of luck , even though there will be some small drum and sea mullet around even if it's cold. Skates and dogfish too for that matter , but really the best bet is to wait for a better forecast
