I'm sorry to hear about it and thank you for letting us know, Tom had been around on this board for a long time and we will miss him. I am glad you were able to hold his hand at the end. That sounds like something he would like, I often come across the flowers washed up on the beach. My neighbor had his ashes scattered here. His family put the ashes in ziplock bags and used a charter boat from Pirate's Cove to come up to where he stayed. Everybody went out on the beach and watched his family scatter some of his ashes and put out a flower wreath on the water. Then they came back by the beach kind of close and everybody yelled. The rest of the ashes were scattered around the yard by his daughters. You have to watch the wind or it will blow back on you which it did and they were washing themselves off with the outside hose afterwards.
