Rodanthe Thursday Report

Surf. 0610 - 1100 hrs. WSW 10, increasing to 20. Waves 6 ft increasing to 10 ft. Water brown. Croaker early, 1 gull, then mullet. Only hittin shrimp. 3 oz early then satellite.

5 families on beach by 1000 hrs. + surfers who as usual had waves as far as the eye can see but have to set up directly in front of this Capt. (Maybe cause just so pretty:):)?? No visitors in water today after attack reports.

Following will surely be more fodder vs. this Capt but amusing none the less. Titled..."Student Teaches Teacher".

Been tutoring young guy from Baltimore last 3 days. 1st time fishing ocean.
Fishin down beach 150 ft. north this AM. Goes in house for coffee, w/ line in water in spike. 5 minutes later line (w/ 4 oz sinker) has dragged into wash further north. Thinks he is snagged (his words). Pulls in 29 " drum!!!

And no....did not teach em to leave line in water on spike and go for coffee!!

Last report from Rodanthe. Heading north in morning. (Course Mrs. Capt already lining up shopping stops along the way.)
