I've noticed that different weeks can be different too. I don't know why and they do act like a herd on the beach.

Send one of those croakers out for live bait, use a drum rig on one of your heavier rods, loosen drag and let sit.

Also with this clear water you'll be better off using a mono style rig or pompano rig from one of the tackle shops.
