Alright I got another one. Last year I read the fishing reports from TW's and listen to Gary's report on OBX pier every day before I went on vacation from June until the magic day.I found out that they were catching big red drum early morning at sunrise.So I made plans to avoid traffic and leave my house at 4 o'clock to get there at sunrise.I new what the bait was and had plenty. Arriving on the short bridge in the dark I gathered my stuff and went to the north side of bridge.Bating my hook with the pealer crabe and bottom rig I cast it in the water.Note never done this beforein the 42 years in coming to OBX. NOTHING. It was still dark .Another fisherman came by and asked any luck . NO. He said still a little early yet. I watched the beautiful sunrise comming up over oceanside and then it happened. The rod went down and line broke.Big one?????? Got excited put another bottom rig on rebaited and did it again. I was fishing with very light tackle,I like the fight. Well this this time I got the best of him . I new it was a good fish. When I finaly got him to the surface I could not get him on the bridge. I looked down at the other fisherman and asked have a net? He came to me running netted my little trophy 20 inch red drum. It was fun. I caught a few more but threw them back. Then came the black drum . they wore me out . I went to TW's and a picture was taken and posted. I found out that my friend in Mathews also reads the fishing report saw my picture and told all my inlaws I had made the fishing report. Now that is funny I don't care who you are.
