Probably be better further south like the lighthouse jetties and the point at Buxton, the beach around Frisco Pier, Hatteras Inlet.

If it's not too rough you could try walking the beach throwing lures, like a green bass assassin shad on a red head jig and reel in slow.

Mirrolures like the green back or black back and the blue back on silver, red head and white, fluorescent, 808, purple demon.

You might get lucky and catch a trout, puppy drum or striper.

You could try the surf around the piers on the northern beaches, wind from the south try the south side beach and wind from the north try the north side beach. Also the surf around high tide at the beach wrecks and be on the lookout for birds diving.

The shell hunting has been who gets there first, try first light or low tide close to the water and don't get behind anybody.

The weather has been crazy 65 degrees and rainy today, suppose to be 28 degrees for a high Thursday. The weekend forecast seems to change everyday.
