Newbie Question

Newbie question here. I am a lifelong freshwater fisherman who just moved to the Hatteras. I have an 18' Seapro Center Console w/ 90 HP outboard. How limited am I to my fishing area? Is this a boat just suitable for sound fishing or could I possibly venture further on calm days? Im anxious to hear any input. I also have several Kayaks so Im interested in hearing some good spots to put in a kayak in the sound. Thanks in advance,
