I think catching anything the first week of February is an accomplishment. This is from the first week of February awhile back in Kitty Hawk and the reason I took the picture. High tide at the street light on a warmer night "windy from the south" and the only one I caught. I didn't expect anything, the water was real cold. That was further out and if I remember right something small kept chewing on the baits in the drop off right at the beach but I couldn't catch it, I think my hooks were too big. Then the weather changed and I didn't go back out there until spring, no fish and chips it was tossed back in the water.
