Mostly dog sharks and skates from the surf lately, I'm guessing the catwalk and jetty might be like that too. The water has been real muddy.
Saturday might be good the wind is suppose to be blowing from the northeast so far and that might clear up the water. For me the air temps at night have been bone chilling cold especially if the wind is blowing, northwest is the worst. Saturday night is suppose to be in the 30s with a possible rain/snow mix according to the local wavy tv weather forecast. I would suggest during the day 3 hours before to 3 hours after high tide which is around 1:30 pm Saturday at Oregon Inlet. Stripers don't like low tide.
If you run into the dog sharks the bigger baits on a drum rig will help with the smaller size dog sharks like live eels, fish heads, whole fillets and also fishing in close to the beach in the drop off cuts back on them.
You might find some trout around the piers. I'd try the north side if the wind is from the north and the south side if the wind is from the south. Fluorescent colored lures work good in muddy water.
The boats have been catching stripers at Oregon Inlet. Check this one out....
