I didn't know and excuse my ranting it happens.
Sounds like it's time to let go of some books, the internet is better for new recipe ideas because you can get reviews on them.
You might like Seaside Art Gallery on the west side of the beach road around milepost 11 at the very north end of Nags Head. The outside looks like it's a one room run down hole in the wall, the inside is really nice it's like being in an art museum that just keeps on going.
If you go left down the maze all the way to the back room they have historical relics for sale in cases and hanging on the wall that people have brought in there, feels like your in a black market of stuff. Metal detecting finds from the civil war on Roanoke Island and very old coins found on the beach that I couldn't ID by looking at them. Indian artifacts like pieces of a Colington Pot found at Hatteras after Hurricane Emily, it was made out of brown clay with little pieces of sea shell in it. Something to keep an eye out for when walking around at the beach.
