I've switched over to Fishbites Bag O' Worms, you can buy it at the tackle shops. Doesn't need to be kept cold, cheaper and won't bite you or squirt blood all over you.
If you don't mind spending over a $100 a week for bloodworms and some do the real bloodworms are the best way to go for sea mullet.
I have seen them get picky and want sand fleas, seems like that usually happens around the full moon during the summer.
It's worth asking about a deal on bulk bloodworms at a tackle shop, I've had one give them to me for free because they were getting old and in bad shape.
And a dozen bloodworms can be between 14 and 6 1/2 if you count them so look for the best looking bags, I think they eat each other.
Best to keep the bags or a gallon size bag in the kitchen frig when not using them, keep the grass in it the more the better.
There's two sizes that are sold, regular and occasionally jumbo. The jumbos cost more but are worth it if you can find them.
Currituck Sports on the mainland is the place that sells and delivers them to all the tackle shops and piers.
