Oct. fishing

We will be down in the area Oct. 4 through the 11. We will have a small boat for the sound but are fairly new to the area for fishing.

We can be very mobile (move north or south if need be to find good fishing). Planning a few days at the point and maybe a few days on the North end (Corova). Wherever the best fishing is.

Also, is this time too early for big reds in the surf?

We are not really all that particular about what species, just want to catch fish. The bigger the better.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
