I heard on Saturday that there were some commercial guys hand dipping their 75 trout limit due to a cold/stun or freeze/kill. I was hoping it wasn't true but just got this e mail.
N.C. Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources wrote:
"The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, which is part of DENR, confirmed over the weekend that there were spotted seatrout cold stun events in several water bodies of the state, including the Alligator River. As a result, North Carolina will close all coastal and inland waters to commercial and recreational spotted seatrout harvest at noon Wednesday. The spotted seatrout season will remain closed until June 15. Read the Division of Marine Fisheries' news release on this closure at http://portal.ncdenr.org/web/mf/nr-06-2014-speckled-trout-closure."
