advise on fishing line

I need some help on fishing line. I need to reline a number of reels and would like the advise of people more experienced than I am. I have a 6' light-medium rod, open face spinning reel that I use for blue/trout lures, 6' light -medium rod, with open face spinning reel that I use for pier bottom fishing and 7-8' medium-heavy rod with open face spinning reel that I use in the surf for puppy drum,stripers,blues,etc. What recommendations do the local experts have for the line strenght and particular brands/colors? Thanks for the advise...see you in October.
