That place used to be a popular big drum spot before the rock jetty was built and back when you could drive on the beach there. They used to use mullet heads for bait to catch them.

I like Coquina Beach on the north side near the lighthouse, it's always been best around first light to sunrise in the morning for some reason. You might have to walk over to catch it right with the driving on the beach hours.
